How to Fluff a Boutique Bow
|Our Party Dot Bow|
How many times have you bought the prettiest little bow, starched, baked, fluffed just for you, only to have it look like this by end end of a few wears? We can all agree that our little princesses aren't always so delicate with their bows. Miss Domino's favorite thing to do with her bows is to stick it in the tiny door handle by her car seat- all smashed. After fluffing many bows I thought I would share my 5 second tips on re-fluffing your bows.
|A non-fluffed bow- probably spent the day in our car door....|
The first step of bow fluffing is to pick up the bow- stick your finger in the middle of each loop and push it down. You want each of the loops to lay flat if laying on the table.
Continue pushing the loops.
Pull the end piece out- toward the fluffy loops.
Pinch the center of each loop together.
After pushing down the bows from the bottom- start with the top and push closest to the center. It helps the loops really POP up and fluff out.
Continue pressing the center folds on each loop down ....
After all loops are pressed down- pull the top two loops toward each other and the bottom to loops- Your bow should now be a cute square or rectangle (depending on the type) with very fluffy loops!
If you want to limit the fluffing process spray it with heavy starch and let dry.
Thank you! I hope this helps- Next up- How to clean your bows! Including bows that can't get wet!
